According to a Ministry of National Health Services official, authorities are keeping a careful eye on the situation


He also dismissed the information circulating on social media concerning the Monkeypox outbreak in Pakistan.


So far, he claims, no instance of monkeypox has been diagnosed in Pakistan.


The World Health Organization (WHO) warned last week that further cases of viral zoonotic illness would spread, citing the fact that monkeypox has been detected in 20 countries around the world.


Monkeypox is a rare viral infection that causes a rash to appear one to three days after the onset of a fever. Other symptoms include headaches, muscle soreness, fatigue, and lymphadenopathy.


The incubation time is usually seven to fourteen days, although it can be anywhere between five to twenty-one days. The ailment lasts two to four weeks on average.
